Our coir mat is a totally natural product. As such, we can never guarantee 100% uniformity. Pieces of coconut husk sometimes appear in the pile, and loose pieces of coconut fibre will shed from the pile at first. If a husk falls out of the pile, this can be simply amended by untwisting surrounding tufts to fill in the hole. This is totally normal with all coconut mats and not a fault. Variations in the colour of the mats will also occur from season to season with the coconut harvest. These variations are part of the beauty of a genuinely natural product.

As coir matting is a natural product it is prone to shedding. As such Coir will require regular hoovering, particularly in the first couple of weeks, to prevent any loose bristles being tracked from the surface of the matting onto the surrounding floors and carpets. (We would recommend hoovering about once a week after it has settled).
